Office of the Auditor General of Kenya is an independent body promoting good governance and accountability in the management of public resources.
The Office of the Auditor General-Kenya is an independent office created by the Constitution of Kenya under Article 229. The Office is mandated to audit accounts of the national and county governments, courts, constitutional offices, Parliament, Political Parties and accounts of any entity as required by any law that the Auditor General audits.
Audit services and audit reports are critical in monitoring and evaluating the outcome and impact of the management and use of public resources, and providing valuable information on whether we as a country are achieving our developmental priorities and service delivery objectives.
Our work is therefore very critical in enhancing accountability in the public sector, with the ultimate aim of transforming lives of the citizens. We are guided by the needs of the Kenyan people in asking for accountability on how their money has been spent by those in authority.
