Happy Cow Dairy was founded 1996 following the liberalisation of the Kenyan dairy sector. Starting off with a daily milk intake of 100 litres a day, production was primarily focused on bringing Dutch cheese making expertise to the Kenyan market.
Following the rise in popularity of the “Cheese makers from Holland”, production had soon expanded to include a wider variety of cheeses from different parts of the world; and diversified to include yoghurt, fresh cream and ghee.
By 2004, Happy Cow Dairy had grown to become a fully-fledged dairy manufacturer supplying leading supermarkets, restaurants and hotels nationwide, establishing itself as a key player within the local dairy market.
