AVIS Kenya – The AVIS brand is one of the world’s best-known car rental and leasing brands in the world. The company was founded in 1948 by Warren Avis, a pilot, having spotted an opportunity to offer rental cars at airports because he couldn’t find ground transportation once he landed. Avis is part of Avis Europe plc and is owned by Avis Budget Group, Inc. based in New Jersey, USA as an operator and licensor of the brand throughout the world. Today the Avis brand has a presence in approximately 5,750 locations in more than 165 countries, including Kenya.

In Kenya, the Avis brand has had a presence for over 50 years, with the Avis Kenya license currently being held by Simba Vehicle Rental Limited (SVRL), a wholly owned subsidiary company of Simba Corporation. SVRL has a presence at 2 locations in Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Aspire Center (Westlands), Mombasa International Airport and Obote Road in Kisumu.
