.The story behind Romageco (Kenya) Ltd and Robs Magic Suspension Systems started in Kenya in 1973. When the company’s owner, Rob Collinge was competing in the East African Rally Championship and the Rhino Charge. Driving a variety of cars culminating in winning the classic East African Safari rally in 2003/2005.
Robs Magic Suspension Systems – By modifying both cars’ shock absorbers. He was able to achieve greater speeds than his competitors over rough surfaces. Resulting in him winning the title numerously.
In 1978, Rob Collinge again won the Kenya National Rally Championship in an Alfa Romeo. Equipped with double front shock absorbers and an ingenious cooling system for the rear shock absorbers. Which he engineered to cope with high speed driving on rough, rutted surfaces by cooling the shock absorber fluid through the fuel tank.
These successes earned Rob a reputation as a ‘Suspension guru’. Leading to the commencement of shock absorber development work for clients ranging from motor companies and rally teams to tour operators.
Romageco Kenya Ltd was formed in 1988 and “Rob’s Magic” came after.
