At Cookswell Energy Saving Jikos, we continually engage in detailed research on the production, management and processing of firewood and charcoal as an excellent renewable energy source for East Africa’s cooking needs.

Cookswell Energy Saving Jikos pioneer the development and marketing of new and original designs of professional charcoal and wood fueled stoves and ovens. Seedballs Kenya is our new initiative to promote affordable tree growing through direct seeding indigenous tree species nation-wide.

We provide our customers with the best quality charcoal and wood fuelled stoves, portable convection ovens, BBQ’s, smokers, space heaters and improved charcoal making kilns.

Our products are designed and handcrafted in Kenya by professional Kenyan artisans personally trained by the late great jiko inventor, Dr. Maxwell Kinyanjui.

Cookswell Jikos advocates for the sustainable production, management and utilization of wood fuels as one of the many renewable energy resources for East Africa’s cooking needs.

We proudly include a free packet of seedballs with every product purchased to further the goal of helping people make charcoal a sustainable energy source. Sprouted in 2017, Seedballs Kenya was formed by Cookswell Director Teddy Kinyanjui in Partnership with Elsen Karstad of Chardust Ltd. Seedballs are an innovative way to effectively distribute indigenous trees in large quantities throughout Kenya. A seedball is a tree or grass seed coated in a protective charcoal coating, keeping the seed safe until it’s time to germinate.
